Badminton BC and the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club hosted the first BC Jr. Ranking tournament of the season. Shuttlesport had a strong presence with over 20 members entering the tournament. A fine effort and performance was put in by ALL Shuttlesport athletes! The highlight of the tournament was Nathan Wong & partner winning the Under 16 Mixed Doubles competition and Alex Lim & partner winning the Under 19 Mixed Doubles competition. Both individuals and their partners fought hard to win their respective titles. Elite Team members Bryan & Allan Ng also had excellent tournaments. The boys showed their class in reaching the Under 16 Boy’s Doubles final before falling just short to a very good Richmond pairing. Newman Lam & Alex Lim also made the Under 19 Boys Doubles final before running out of gas in the final. Alex Lim reached his 3rd final in the Under 19 Boy’s Singles after defeating the #1 seed from Vancouver before losing in the final. Other highlights include Bryan Ng winning the Under 16 Boy’s Singles Consolation event and Irwin Ng & Michael Choy winning the Under 16 Boy’s Doubles Consolation event. Congrats to all!!
